Tips
- Write in the third person. Please avoid “we” and “them.”
- Proofread–Be grammatically correct and spell words correctly. These kind of mistakes reflect poorly on your organization. If this is not your “strong suit,” find someone to edit.
- Include contact information. Phone numbers, email addresses and mailing addresses will allow journalists to contact you and bring exposure to your organization.
- Pick a template. There are several to choose from, and they all were created with the media and journalists in mind. Several resources, such as the ones listed above, will have access to simple press release templates.
